The ninth version of the International Sand Art Festival and the thirty first version of the Konark Festival has kicked-off in Odisha. International Sand Art Festival is being held on the Chandrabhaga Beach of Konark in Puri district of Odisha. About 70 artists from throughout the nation are participating within the pageant. The world-renowned sand artist and Padmashree Awardee, Sudarsan Pattnaik, has been appointed as Chief Curator of the pageant.

About the Konark Festival 2020
- The pageant is organised yearly as a part of the Konark Dance Festival, to offer a platform for each nationwide and worldwide sand artists to showcase their expertise. However, in 2020 worldwide artists should not collaborating as a result of ongoing international Covid-19 pandemic.
- Meanwhile, the Konark Festival is organised by Odisha Tourism to showcase one of the best of India’s conventional and classical dance types, and supply attention-grabbing insights into the wealthy cultural heritage of the nation.
- Leading exponents and dance fans of just about all classical dance types of India, together with Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Manipuri, Kuchipudi and Kathak, are collaborating within the five-day classical dance carnival.
