The Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) and the Uttar Pradesh Forest division have bagged the first-ever worldwide award, “TX2” for doubling the variety of tigers in 4 years towards a goal of 10 years. TX2 stands for ‘Tigers times two’, signalling the purpose to double wild tigers. In 2014, PTR had 25 tigers which went as much as 65 in 2018.

PTR is the primary to obtain the award amongst all of the 13 tiger vary nations. (India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Russia, Thailand and Vietnam.) It achieved the purpose of doubling the tiger’s inhabitants in simply 4 years, towards the goal of 10 years. The award was nearly introduced to the principal chief conservator of forest (wildlife) of the state, Sunil Pandey, by UNDP’s (United Nations Development Program) head of ecosystems and biodiversity, Mindori Paxton.
